2021
Love's Labour's Lost &
Much Ado About Nothing
Come 2021, we felt comfortable reapproaching a project a year and a half in the making: a two-play season where both plays, having different tones and characters, were set in the same universe.
We took Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost and Much Ado About Nothing and reset them. Our versions took place before and after the Napoleonic wars respectively.
By setting these plays in the same universe, we were able to explore how Shakespeare depicts youth versus maturity, romantic love versus platonic love, and joy versus grief.
